Alex Smith: Folk Music From New York's Adirondack Mountains

Hey there folks, I have almost finished writing "Evangeline and The Road," which I have been working on with Adirondack folk legend Dan Berggren.  Also, check my calendar!  After taking a little time off to write the new album following last summer's tour I have booked a few shows for the winter and will be hitting the road again next summer for a second tour.

Hey folks, 

Writing this from Binghamton, NY, where we are for the third show of the tour!  Things have been phenomenal so far, with good shows and good crowd responses.  Next up is New York City, at the great Alphabet Lounge.  We're opening for The Wolf Hongos and Day Old Funk.  Both of these bands are very, very good, and we're stoked to share a stage with them.  If you're in the area, come on out!  Saturday the 21st.  After then we head south, and we'll keep you updated!

This summer's tour has been finalized, and will include dates as from Rochester, NY to Johnson City, TN.  See the calendar page for details!

"The North Country Sessions" is here, after months of work in the studio.  The album features slightly more blues and rock than Smith's first CD, "Sawdust."  However, the strong folk feel still remains, and life in Northern New York still provides the inspirational spine of the album.
